everything in school is back to normal, the long and draining journey last week is now at the back of our minds. thats how we've all learnt to keep moving and fighting on.

maybe the most beautiful things in life are those which will last till eternity when everything else fades away someday. or maybe they are hidden in our everyday sometimes we fail to notice them. maybe they are like the butterflies, we just have to run after and catch hold of them. maybe its all of these, but i know for sure that no beautiful thing is made for a sad destiny.

JUST DANCEEEEEEEE :D

dance today was superbb retardedly fun :D honestly, the best place to be at sometimes is really the dance studio, with a bunch of crazy ppl who are just there to dance and have fun together with. in salt, all we do is dance laugh dance talk dance eat laugh dance, it takes your mind off nagging issues like studying, and makes you realise that studying really isnt everything in life. finding joy and fulfilment in the things you do is clearly more meaningful and rewarding :)

conditioning today was imba~ haha, crunches, leg raise, arm exercise (matthew loves my new formula to gaining arm muscles :D), inverse push-ups; all levelled up + X2 = woohoo anan will be so proud of us.

what is fun without euuuuu :D

maybe we need to learn to enjoy ourselves on stage as much as we do off it

:) im glad to be back here on this familiar (yet very much distant) page where i am free to pen down my thoughts! the past two months could be described as 'busy', or the adventurous would call it 'exciting', but to me it was more of a journey where i learnt the true meaning of the 'demands of life', and realised how weak i am and the how much God can do in my life if only i allowed His power to manifest instead of depending on myself. trust is so easy to say, but so hard to do.
lesson learnt: it is easy to keep looking at our own circumstances and attempting to apply human methods to help ourselves, forgetting that all we should do is to focus on Jesus and realise the truth of His magnificence and power.

in relation to this, i have a story to tell. a story i heard during one of the Xplosive services which is worth sharing :) -
There was a professional tightrope walker who could perform tightrope stunts at tremendously scary heights. In one of his performances, he walked across a tightrope blindfolded, and the crowed cheered in awe and amazement.
So the tightrope walker asked "Do you believe i can carry the weight of a person on my back and walk across the tightrope blindfolded?"
The crowd cheered and shouted "Yes, we believe!", all of them were certain that he could do it, afterall that was his profession, no one doubted his capability.
Then the tightrope walked asked "So which of you in the crowd is willing to let me carry you on my back?"
The crowd was silent.
i guess this story reflects a very real issue regarding our faith. many times we may say on our lips and in our heads that we believe in God, but our action speaks the opposite because our faith lacks a true conviction in the heart. this im learning too, to not just say i believe, but to be willing to let God carry me.

on a side note, im currently preparing for my block test (say yayyy!!). BLG concert was zomg i love it; chinese new year was fun and good rest + good food + catching up = nais; hiphop has found its new generation of promising youths (haha).

BACK TO SCHOOL!
thank God for a wonderful holiday, its time to put my face back into reality and brace myself for the tougher times ahead. i can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

it has only been the first week of school so far but im already overwhelmed. all the talk about Alvls, expectations, the different choices to make and responsibilities etc, they are filling every possible thought-pocket in my mind. & apart from all these serious stuff, even the talks-of-the-school (aka gossips) have been on the run, its almost as though i get exclusive news feed everyday. everything only seems to feel oh-so-familiar again, but someday along the way we're gonna get immuned and just keep running like a machine.

yet thankfully, God always sends wonderful people around to make my daily life less unbearable. simple gestures or few words could inject enough warmth to keep me motivated :) then of course there are the special people who always make me feel that everything's alright and lifes not that bad afterall. & maybe how beautiful life is depends on how you look at it.

its 2010!
if i were to look back on the past 17 years of my life and cut them up into snippets, the best times i had would come largely from year1 of college.

Top 10 Highlights of my 2009 :)

1. My Best Friend Is Bester Than Any Other Person's Best Friend!
hello lili teo this is for you! youre one of the best gifts God has given to me, one of those i shud never deserve. i love all the times we spent in college together-which is everyday :D how we walked from college to highschool for lunch (cos college food suck:/), wearing the same swimsuit for PE lesson, how we can just talk about anything and everything (and everybody) in our free time, sitting at the back of the class during mrs boo's lesson doing nothing but talking and laughing away, oh both of us can really laugh ALOT, and all the big & small things we did together no matter how retarded. 1 more college year together and i pray this journey with you gets better better best :D

2. DANCE
a huge huge important part of my life. the other day J asked me whether i was more committed to MM or Fission-X. it was only when i answered his question that i realised what dance really means to me. whether its MM, Fission-X, or MAD, i dont go for dance pracs to feel belonged to any particular crew or dancegroup. im not especially committed to any of the above, cos what im committed to is dance. to me, as long as its dancing, it doesnt really matter where im dancing or who im dancing with. maybe some other people may place unity of dance team as higher priority or think that its impt to find your sense of belonging with a particular group of ppl, but what i really want to find is my identity in dance.

3. MAD Hiphop
i rmb how unfortunate i was having to stand right in front and in the middle for both auditions and how nervous i was for several days before the release of audition results i actually dreamt that i didnt get in. but i thank God, cos one thing i learnt is that He is a God who sees and fulfills our hearts' desires. having to meet all the wonderful people in Hiphop is a blessing, and i hope that Dancenight 2010 would make a beautiful conclusion to this journey of music and dance, before we all move on to the next phase of our lives. but at least we know wherever we go theres always that 1 thing we share in common.

4. C1 Orientation
although i always think its so cliche when ppl say "orientation is probably the best times you'll ever have in HC", i still do miss it and i cannot imagine who wouldnt. it was just 2 weeks of plain fun. we may not have felt as "used to" the school as we are now, but all the cheering and playing and getting to know made that entire experience so hard to not miss. college songs, mass dance, OG dinner, painting class banner, POP. crap i cant find the word/s to explain that feeling.

5. 09S77
the people i spend my everyday with. we may not be the most united class, have many class outings or htht, but its only until this holidays that i realised the many things i miss without you guys around. like caleb's incessant humming and singing, kaeyuan's retarded ttm jokes which i can never understand, sarah's and my private joke (hehe), the weiqi and valerie scandal; i think each of you in class is so uncommon. :) im looking forward to a meaningful 2010 with 09S77, no matter how tough J2 will be we'll go thru it together!

6. the meaningful friendships :)
all the awesome church friends God has placed around me this year like lebbillie, joylynn, debbie, joel, amy, yangcheng, eunice, jake, reuben, pearleen, lynn, dayna. & the special ppl i have in school who made me realise that good friends are few, but few is enough, jiale, haojie, matthew, rachel, caleb. thankyou alll for the many outings and htht sessions, it is relationships that make life meaningful.

8. knowing myself better
i really wouldnt want to go into details cos it'll get complicated or boring, but thank God for helping me to realise who i am and can be, what i stand for, and the things which are precious/impt to me. i guess its essential for me, in the process of growing up and having challenges put to my face, to sort out certain things like my personal stand and take on issues, values and priorities etc. i like to be myself and not somebody else!

9. favourite books and movies!
reading has unknowingly become an integral part of my life, i treasure my reading habit. every book i read brings me on a whole new experience and every word is precious. i see the beauty of language in books. & ya im just a big fan of good movies.

10. the day i slept through Avatar 3D
& everything that came along with it :)

i would attach a picture to each of 1-10, but that would make the post awfully long.
and of course apart from all these, there are still many wonderful things that i have in 2009 like HG2-T and the precious times i had with my family- in HK, chalet and the Best Christmas Party Ever. so in spite of all the good and bad times,

its time i keep record of all the exciting things that have happened this holidays before time passes so quickly i forget the little things that made me laugh and smile and blow all my troubles away, sometimes its these little things that matter.

MAD DANCE CAMP!
i love the dance sessions best. learning other genres of dance is interesting and i realise how amazing dance really is, that through different forms of it people are able to express their innermost emotions and mould their identity. its like discovering a part of our inner selves which cannot be expressed in words or character, but only through dancing. ANYWAY, i think breakdancing is maximum fun. i so totally enjoyed the entire bboy session learning all the basic techniques. and i can finally do babyfreeeeze yay!

water games today was insane fun, it has been quite awhile since i played any water game which made me completely drenched throughout. haven had such a good time playing and running around in the outdoors for a long time, the laughter in the atmosphere was priceless.

CHURCH CAMP!

was really fun too cos we got to explore the place on our own most of the time. even though at one point of time lebb deb and i got really bored of shopping at the same mall everydayyy (we even took a picture of our sian faces). but it was still a good camp because the messages were helpful and time spent with lebbillie debbie and the bcm ppl was very nice :) went to sing K and watched couples retreat, the entertainment there is so much cheaper. i think singaporean youth's recreational life will boomzx if we were given that kind of rates.

1. im sick of growing up

its not exciting when life offers you a pool of possibilities and opportunities, often accompanied by a greater dose of fear and insecurities. its difficult when you find yourself caught at the crossroads, making decisions which will make you. & it doesnt help when certain choices you make will break you first before they even make you.

2. theres this serious love-hate relationship im involved in, with romance books/chiclit

they make me swoon, smile, giggle and laugh - like almost no one else can do. i feel like im being brought to a whole new world of magic and dreams (no matter how heart-wrenching the story plots can twist to become) yet the irony lies in that i can totally relate to how screwed up or emotional the characters feel; its like these stories are so life-like yet too magical to be real at the same time. theres a touch of magic even at the lowest points of the story (maybe life is like this too). i hate it because im not in it.

3. i need to start coming up with my new year plans/resolutions. another reason why growing up sucks, who does this at 10yrs old? but anyway, healthy eating is definitely gonna be on the list. my thesaurus says the synonym for 'slim down' is 'eat healthily'

it feels terrible when you hear people say things that hurt one another when they are angry. i think silence is the safest way to express anger and the best way to contain it. keeping silent allows me to reflect on why i got angry in the first place, and most of the time id realise how much the matter did not reckon a fight at all. the decision to give in is seldom regrettable, as compared to hurting someone when you didnt mean to. its not nice realising thereafter that you could have resolved the matter amicably, or that what you have lost in the process of releasing anger is greater than what you could have gained from winning the argument.

all the action kind of started pretty early, but the real action began from the second half of the movie. the initial parts were so ultra unrealistic i didnt like it. but it got better, and the ending was rather satisfatory, shall not be a spoiler. but honestly, the real apocalypse isnt gonna turn out the way it did in the movie, so whats with all the scary talk about end of the world. this reminds me of noah's ark (like evan's almighty, just a less comical version), if not poseidon.

should a church be made up of an orchestra of flawless holy saints, or simply a bunch of vulnerable imperfect humans crying out to a Holy God?
i was reminded of the song Stained Glass Masquerade- are we people who look so strong because we have walls around our weakness, and smiles to hide our pain. maybe beneath all that looking good and nice, we are broken and so imperfect. perhaps we are even afraid to let others know some of our thoughts, sins and failures. but God never demanded us to be strong and perfect before Him, He has always known who we are, and He loves us for that. i used to want to be the strong and good girl whenever i come before Him, but i realised i never needed to be strong before my Father. its like how i know if i come running back to my daddy no matter how terrible a daughter i am, his arms would be waiting wide opened.
in the bible, God didnt choose the best, strongest, biggest, prettiest people to fulfil his purpose; they only became great because God chose them, and they obeyed. in the same way, i dont think we have to be holy and awesome people for us to come before God, or to live for Him. it is after we decide to live for Him and be used for His kingdom, that God can make us His holy church.

3(h)ours of summer was pretty cool, although i regret not camwhoring ): technically i only took a few snapshots with huiqing (who else right). but i liked the ambience, some of the music and chubby bunny was so funny.

& thankyou liliiii for if you could see me now. surprise surprise. now i have an awesome lovely book to read, one down from my holiday wishlist.

let me rant
1. i hate irresponsible smokers. okay i know people who smoke arent exactly supposed to be responsible in the first, but there is just a subset of these people who like to make things worse- for others. was at the newton mrt bus stop, waiting for a bus back to school when i met this awful person who decided to just leave his half-smoked cigarette on top of the dustbin before rushing off to board his bus. so what happens when someone does that, is that the cigarette would be left to burn on its own until the very last flake of tobacco turns into ashes, and the smoke keeps coming out and stinking up the entire bus stop, and people at the bus stop would fall innocently into passive smoking. the smell was unbearable.

2. some people can be plain insensitive and annoying. for some unexplanable insecurity reasons, they would always want to comment on people's flaws. like come on, nobody is perfect. and that means you live with others' imperfections and not constantly point them out and put them in their faces to make yourself feel superior. and just because they dont tell you about your flaws does not mean you are awesome, or even just better. talk about being encouraging/edifying. people who gain self-confidence by putting others down should just go get a life.

i think without God, im nothing. it didnt take me long to learn this from the bible, but it did for me to learn this from life. maybe even right now i haven fully realised the meaning of being nothing, but i know that i am something only because God has decided to let me be. it was more than recognising my need for God when im at my lowest, but realising how much more i actually need Him in the good times, even when everything's well.
i thank God for His faithfulness in my walk with Him, in my studies and in my family. :D

ive been getting my hands back onto the volleyball lately. it feels quite good playing the sport again, apart from the heat. i rmb how we used to train indoors in high school. anyways, i think i got slightly tanner ): very bad. I CANT exactly describe how i feel now. :/
theres like an intense urge to run free now that promos are over. only held back by pw and manymanymany other stuffs on the list. since when have post-exam periods become so trying. cant seem to get all the responsibilities off my mind. even when im playing, the feeling's all wrong.

& i know my mind subconsiously reminds me about the promo papers. like omgg stoppp ittttt the uncertainty overwhelms me. j said "i thought you said you're gonna leave the rest to God, now gonna take it back ah?" -no i dont want to take it back. you never leave someone who gives you the greatest security, an unchanging being in an ever-changing world.

SABBATICALS for the past two days have been great. great because it was dance and nothing else. i felt tired after 7h of dance, but nothing beats the feeling of grooving to the music, it awakens something inside of me. fusion hiphop with yutaki was awesomeee and so was street jazz, but i think i prefer hiphop, steel. on a side note, im going for Project X on the 26th, theres Last For One :) im so sure they're gonna boomz the stage yayyyyy. (its a bboy crew by the way)

todays one of my favourite days.

i was in the car when the sky was still dark. and i didnt sleep today, i just looked at the fleeting trees, the streetlights, the cars and roads and signs. with my earphones plugged in, i let myself hear the voice inside of me. and in the midst of the quietness, something says life is beautiful in its ordinariness and i felt stronger.

in the morning i sat and stared into the sky, the clouds were moving and they covered the sun. i couldnt see it anymore, but i knew it was still shining.

in school we talked and laughed, and laughed at each other. but we all laughed together anyway.

& what i loved most about today was dance. six hours of dance has made me less sober, but it brought the heart to somewhere safe, where it can be shielded from the dangerous looking things that can hurt. one of the greatest gifts God has given to me is dance, and i thank God for dancers too.

i realised it has come to a point where im tired of performing. preparing for a string of performances one after another and learning choreography after choreography after choreography is not exactly my idea of dance. i need to settle down to relearn the basics, keep practising techniques for a strong foundation, and learn as much as i can in these 2 years esp with anan around. as much as preparing for performances can be an alternative process for improvement, i feel like it has become like a semi-barrier that slows down the progress:( but i'll still do my best anyway.

if theres one thing ive learnt in the process of growing up, its not to do things for the sake of meeting others' expectations. sometimes its so easy to make yourself do something you may not necessarily feel happy about doing, simply because its somebody elses expectation of you, or because it makes you more answerable to your friends, or that it'll please somebody. whether its good or bad, ive grown to be resistant to such situations, i dont like that pressure. sometimes i just want to do what i want to do, it sounds lame, but thats precisely the struggle i used to face. and im not talking about wilfully sticking to your ways at the expense of others.

oh dear, im sorry i haven updated for more than 2 weeks! have been caught up with schoolwork & DANCE. being in jc really makes you so much busier, the assignments flow in and basically, you never get the "right, im done with everything for now" feeling. sometimes it feels so hectic, i want to just stop and spend time resting in God's presence. & im really thankful for His divine strength and the constant reassurance that i so need.

HELLO!

this week has been dancish! esp todayyy. but yay! dance pracs are loveeeeee<3!
i heart hiphop dance pracs! plus, J1hiphop had dinner together after prac on thursday :) which was really sweet, cos such simple occasions really do bring us closer. & a few of the snrs came to join us as well (though we were abit mean cos we ps-ed them halfway), and i think we all had fun, esp with the very dramatic (revenge) prank!

& council nominees introduction was held on wednesday:) i think the apollo nominees were generally pretty impressive! esp ONCORE! like seriously, anyone would agree with me that their video was epic hilarious haha. and with caleb incessant imitation of lili's classic line, i was so entertained.

went out with cell group last night! YAY :D
haha. okay it wasnt really cell group, it was pearleen reuben norman qianxiang and i. but still, we had alot of fun! haha, for one, we went to fish&co. at town and then ARCADE! hahaha im amused by the last sentence but yay just joinnnn.

i like HG-T because the ppl are so sweetxx and encouraging:D the tags on the left are very good examples! (although the cynic in me thinks that they had an underlying conspiracy to do that together to poke fun at poor me.) its nice being in a tertiary cellgroup cos ppl around understand you more often, talk about the right kind of things, and are more sensitive and hmm, real, i would say.

i remember a few weeks ago, amy lebbillie and i went out for dinner, and we were chatting over the dinner table when i mentioned about really enjoying myself in college and feeling attached to the school, to a point that for that couple of weeks, church became just a weekend agenda and i really look forward to the start of the school week. her reply was that, its normal for new jc students to feel that way, that suddenly you'll feel more towards school than church, but eventually you'll realise again that church is the THE place in your heart. AND NOW (faster than i thought), i can totally uds what she said. its like, even though hc is like a really warm and nice place, i think im just not the kind who can feel attached to my school(s). and after all the orientation/making friends/integrating into the school culture, the nice-ness starts wearing off and i dont really look forward to school that much again. it returns to become just a place i go to study in. while on the other hand, going to church on sundays alone is not enough for me. i love cell groups on fridays, & spending my saturdays and sundays in church. in the weekend that just passed, suddenly it was like im returning to the place i love the most (apart from home), and now i cant wait for weekends to come, church is still <3, and always will be!

its like school, tutorials, assignments, tests, activities, mug, dance, plans, deadlines, proposal, projects, events, gatherings, this, that, that, this- all in my head. yea its turning slightly disorganised. BUSY! even my train of thoughts now is so incoherent, blah.

actually on the whole, i think college life is really nice. :) i like the way things are, the people, the atmosphere, the walking around, the not-fixed seating in classrooms, the breaks, the laughing, the classbenches, the kitkats, the thinking, the lili caleb & kaeyuan. how nice! everythings keeping me busy, but i still find joy in the midst of it all.

& all my close friends in class are running for council! GO lili, shiing, caleb, kaeyuan, zijin!:D its quite cute seeing them checking the council board almost every period and getting nervous/excited/slightly insane (like caleb). kind of reminds me of the MAD auditions haha, kind of reminds me of ME actually.

i think this post is seriously incomprehensible to anyone else other than the writer herself. its like a failed attempt of an update on my life. forgive me. but yup, it has all been pretty fulfilling:)

Thank God It's Friday!
i like fridays because when i come home from school and in the nice cool evenings like this, the burden of work and mtg deadlines seem to be temporarily lifted. and then i feel light. :)

two days ago i turned on the tv and realised theres a new show on channel8. my reaction was like, not again? its a tad bit disappointing to see how the 7/9pm local productions always revolve around the same kind of plot, just putting in different actors and actresses to play the same few main roles. and it wasnt just the typical plot, but the fact that its always hinged on the stereotypical moulds of the gender roles. im not a feminist, its just that seriously, our media industry needs talents.

then again this reminds me of DRAMAFESTE '09 - hello, goodbye :)
Athena put up something better than i expected, from what i heard, by tradition they would be putting up something that nobody uds haha. but i was slightly impressed, it was good.
Artemis' showcase was a little incoherent, too much sexual humor (which sometimes wasnt really funny actually), not too bad, id say the male lead was impressive.
Ares' performance was touching, something closer to us, something terribly relevant. its a pity it was a bit too draggy and kind of lost its punch after awhile. cliche crowdpleaser, but oh well, i still teared at the last part.
Apollo's sweet love story was, what i call substance. there were just 2 main characters, 2 supporting roles, but yet the play was so complete, so full and so romantic. the lines were, beautiful and nothing less than that.
i sound biased. okay i may be, but yup rly think apollos play was abit more outstanding:)

it has been 3 days of official lessons so far, & so far so good :)
really its a joy being in s77, and being a part of it. we ppl are just coooolzz and cutexx!:D haha nvr expected ourselves to be this close like we are now, not in this short period of time at least. & each time i see the different faces in my mind, i realise every one of us is likable and unique in our own ways:)

i rmb how i used to dislike staying back in school late when i was in ny. non-cca days were the best days of my 5day-week, and packing up to zoom home at 2.30 were like my favourite times then. but its funny how things have changed since college started, id rather dance/ hangaround/chat/mug at class bench after lessons even if they end at 2. when the last bell rings for the day, i think of what to do in campus, with 'home' at the 6pm slot at the back of my mind. i conclude- hc is more home to me than ny was, college is nice.

and more imptly, i know all these good things didnt just come by coincidence, its really God's grace and providence. new friends, lovely class, nice tchers, good timetable, sweet snrs, fun activities, good environment, God is reallyreally good. :D

back from school, and yay, only have to be back to school next thurs plus theres no school again on friday. how nice:)

yup. lectures today were pretty good, actually i think most of the lectures in the past few days have been interesting. furthermore, it has been really long since im used to how funny (or irritating) things can get with the naturally-mischievous herds(quoted) around during lessons. chem lectures were lively with a lecturer who proclaimed her S is scrawny :P haha, shes so cute. physics was good, not because i really uds what was going on, but because the physics teachers do possess a unique sense of humor:) biology lectures are definitely more than interesting, they're kind of exciting. and english lectures are most brain stimulating because in every lecture theres a diagnostic test to do. going to school is nicer than i thought! so far at least. :)

HELLO EVERYBODY!!! :D

im so sorry for MIA-ing for SOOO long! yup, not that ive been too busy, just trying to make right stuffs for school and cny. besides getting prepared, its also about getting excited. but sometimes i think its just a matter of me wanting to feel in control of situations ahead of me, good and bad id say. :)

yupyup. & as i said i wanna THANK GOD in this post! even though this is like a super belated thanksgiving post, but yup God deserves it!

I WANT TO THANK GOD FOR:

1. healing daddy! dad has been suffering from a physical condition since last christmas, but hes recovering so well now! it was tough initially, emotionally and mentally, especially for my dad himself. there was a time when it felt really dark and narrow, but we all knew that God is Light! and more imptly we serve a God who never fails, and who is the greatest doctor. daddy is not just recovering, hes such a kick haha. sportier and livelier than any of us, the man of the house and of my heart, and healthier than ever. thank God!

2. friends and ppl sometimes more than friends, who have been so here:) the friends that i had so much fun with, friends who just understand and are so encouraging, friends who make me feel loved and cherished, friends whom i love and treasure. God has sent me so many of these lovely ppl in the past year, that theres no way i can not thank Him for all of them. every bit of the friendships makes a difference to me:)

3. blessing me in my studies! yupyup, its not just this year, but also the past manymany years. and especially this year, that God has taught me to depend on Him more even in my studies! it has never been easy managing with the stress, expectations and disappointments, but i realised that each time i trust God a bit more, He gives me a lot more. God is gracious and He gives not the best to us , but whats best for us:)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
yay it has been such a season of joy and love. and Christmas is about Jesus!! todays christmas service was pretty good- gift of Praise, You, Forgiveness, Commitment and Faith :) yup, and thank you for all of your presents and cards!

went out to kbox with lebbillie, debbie, amy and laureen:D haha was quite fun, even though i felt really cheated. but yup, singing is funnn, esp while reading the christmas cards. then met yuhding at cine lvl3! and after that went back to gran's & it was so crowded! almost everyone was there haha. dinner was greatt.

23rd/ CCIS dance was great! haha everyone was like really enjoying and giving all out on stage, im so proud of each and every dancer:D i think we're making a really good crew. THANKYOU to all supporters, it meant more than you can imagine to us:)
24th/ entire day of baking at amy's. really appreciate amys mummy and daddy:D

yay dont worry everybody im still at eclipse, but im gonna chiong it later tonight! :P the next few hours will be all edward's! (cullen, please.)

haha i just found out something.

power of the cross, gentleness of perfect love

dance prac today was goood :) because we got better at attuning our movements with the music, polishing our own steps, and dancing as a group, like synchronized in unity. and time just slided faster than i noticed. & i realised that even though dancing can seem like a physical business, when we place our focus on God and on the purpose, things turn easier and a whole lot more meaningful. :)

new moon is good even though edward left so suddenly and painfully, so much that for the 2 pages of the book he turned from my hero to my zero. i was so disappointed in him, and i suspect bella cried buckets, just that meyer forgot to pen it down in her book.

reading is addictive because i find myself in the fantasy.

the best thing of this week is TWILIGHT:D
okay, ive finally calmed down.
just came back from watching the movie, and it was really fantabulous! but on 2 conditions-
1. youve read the book (thats what i think)
2. & you have a thing for edward!

and i totally felt like i was melting in the theatre! the moment edward appeared at his first scene i wanted to scream, and every part of the movie was so mesmerising.
it was like when the movie ended, all of us kind of went crazy haha. vivien was SOOO excited, amy was swooning and melting (quite badly!), dayna was all smiles, sherry almost hyperventilated, and i just felt like every cell inside of me was bubbling. this feels like falling in love. twilight!

hope i didnt spoil it for anyone!
really thank GOD that we could get the tickets and we could reach in time and debbie could help us to get the tix first and though we got the front seats it din spoil the show at all and everything just fell in place so well. yay!

anyways! TWILIGHT!!!
i think i can safely say Twilight is like the top 3 best books ive ever read in my life. its not like chic-lit (which i do it so harcore), its not like the stiff books on aliens or robots (which doesnt appeal to me at all). Twilight is truly magical. and initially i thought vampires are so unreal, something so far away and something i cannot relate to. but edward is real, the vampires in this magical story are simply beautiful!
Edward Cullen is so perfect in his imperfection (being a vampire that is), and its like im falling in love with him. His every word and expression i can almost imagine as i read, and they melt ppl. & he's always there, imagine someone whos always there, and esp when you need him. imagine someone perfect. HELLO EVERYONE!

omg so long sooo long mia.

and yay, i heart canada! (: its a beautiful place, not just the scenery, but the ppl, the culture, the way of life, the atmosphere, the air! vancouver is really quite an ideal place to live/study in. will photoblog/share some of my experiences another day, hopefully sooon. :)

its bscc camp now, and its awfully fun + fabulously tiring. haha everyday is like so exciting.

and because we were all running around changi airport today, we got really tired!

its graduation day!
so many things have taken place in just one day, so many feelings, so many thoughts. but the few things id want to say are just

#1, nanyang's really somewhere many of my memories are written, the warmth and the memories i wont forget.

#2, being in 402 is as amazing as each and every one of you girls are, the joy and the pain we've chosen to walk through it all together. sometimes its hard to express all these in words, its just a special feeling we share. i just think, 402 is a special class.

#3, to my 5 beloved teammates, the 4year journey has been long and we each face our own struggles. but ultimately i see many more blessings than anything else, and i know ive at least 5(:

"dont doubt your ability to soar sky high, cos there's where you truly belong"

okay change topic.- i think the most amusing advertisement on tv recently is the osim twist-and-trim thingy, which seriously has nvr failed to make me look up and laugh/frown/snort (progresses as the number of times i watch it increases) . if the main purpose of the adver was to attract attention and stir up some responses so that ppl will rmb it, then yes bingo. theres really a diverse range of means you can use to sell your products, but i really think quality and creativity should go together.

hello!

so school for the past few days has been about chinese revision and global classroom prog preparation. and finally tml is the last day of school + graduation day!:D and of course when its graduation day, you look back to the first day of school in ny when you were just an innocent sec-one student, finding your way in the huge (then) campus. then say "how time flies!" and indeed, 4 years have past before the fact that it did really sink into our minds. secondary school is over and its quite scary to think of that,because its probably the last phase of education where you're so well taken care of in school. and talking bout memories, i guess its not so much about the dramatically touching moments of in the four years, but more like the bits and pieces that i'll bring back with me. i think its nice to be in a girls school(:

& im looking forward to a truly exciting holiday this time (unlike all the others where you spent half the time mugging, and all the time burdened by the blocktests). as well as a new environment and phase of life in jc.

most imptly even as i look back from where ive come from, and ahead to where im ready to
go, i see God's faithfulness that never fails. thank God!

i think theres like only one word now, which is "FINALLY!" haha.
yayyyy. feels good to be unstress! haha. and i know my last entry was so longlonglonglong ago, but since i have half the whole lot of time in the world (haha), im sure i'll be able to share manymany of the exciting, or not so exciting, things. 1. really appreciate and thank everyone who came down to support us(: i think that each and every portion of support means alot to us, it gives us the confidence and assurance that there are so many of you standing together with us. thank you!:D

2. thankyou to all the dancers! i think that the entire journey together with all of you has made my life more colorful, esp with the gm guys whom i couldnt communicate with at all initially (i uds your kind of language now okay!) and also definitely the pretty girls! from all the dance pracs, cheerleading and poms, up till todays making up, tying french braids and camwhoring, its been so special!:D

3. finally, i think the dancers altogether wants to give all this glory and praise to our Awesomeeeeeeee .. GOD!:D haha thank God for His blessings and guidance and for the opportunity!(:

yup, the disadvantage of posting after a long time is that, there are so many things that have happened that you dont know what to post about cos everything is equally exciting. haha so the conclusion for tonight is = cherie's life is so happening.

okay yaya i know theres like one million and one ppl out there proclaiming to be mrs phelps, but theres only oneeeeee, (im not referring to like his mum), yes im sure everyone knows who she is!:D haha phelps is the most amazing swimmer, or athlete i'd say, ive ever seen. simply because he works hard to achieve the goals he set for himself, and he believes in his own capibilities and potential despite his age, something that i guess i'll nvr be able to do.

haha right, and the olympics fever is spreading wild. but meanwhile, i think there are certainly more meaningful things that have taken place in my life. just that im quite hesitant about talking bout them all over hereeeee, so not today perhaps(:

i wonder how many of us can survive alone, afterall, we're so interdependent, we're made interdependent. and there are so manymany ppl and things we shud be thankful for in each day of our lives. and showing appreciation, though often forgotten, is important! furthermore, a gesture of appreciation goes a long way, it encourages the love to be spread.

haha its on cosmetic surgery. and kind of interests me cos theres a form of controversy in it. many ladies turn to these surgeries in hope to change themselves to gain acceptance from themselves and from others. but i think, once you start to believe in plastic/cosmetic surgeries, it seems to be a nvr ending struggle, esp when after you tried it once. it is a fact that everyone has some form of imperfections, no one is perfect. but isnt it more beneficial to accept yourself for who you are, and be with ppl who accept you for who you are, instead of struggling in inferiority and trying so hard to win someone or some ppl. even though these surgeries bring about transformation on the outwards appearance, the inner longing to be better will nvr be satisfied just after an operation, and the tendency to find more and more flaws in your body increases, and chances are the transformation wont be forever, and sometimes instead of gaining more acceptance you may be even more troubled with how ppl look at the artificial whatever, wouldnt it hurt even more?
cliche it may sound, but its a truth that beauty from within is what captivate ppl. a gorgeous outside may impress others, but its temporal, its the personality that matters to ppl in the long run. just like what we uds- ppl rmb how you make them feel-, and how you make others feel comes from the heart. i guess thats where the true beauty lies. on top of that, true happiness comes when youre contented with what you have if not the emptiness can hardly be satisfied.

its week2 day1 !
after so many years on earth, im convinced that time flies.

played floorball for pe
and i cant play properly for nuts, apparently i was screaming more than i did anything else. but still, i had fun! which is good cos i think thats one of the main point for having pe, haha and when students enjoy their pe lessons, pe teachers are happy too!

during LA lesson today, we were discussing bout Running Fan, the very interesting teacher who, during the Earthquake in China, simply screamed "EARTHQUAKE!" and ran out of the classroom to save himself, amusingly.
being very unapologetic, he was trying to justify his actions. what the teacher said was that he did not violate any law, as there was no law that said a teacher has to save his students in time of an earthquake, all he did was just challenging the traditional ideas and morality that ppl hold.
come to think of it, he's technically right, he did no wrong as there wasnt any regulation that stated a teacher has to place the lives of his students before himself. the issue over here is simply different moral standards among different ppl, what he did was just different from what other ppl expect him to do, he does not need to hold the similar moral beliefs just because more ppl do. but i guess sometimes its beyond fulfilling expectations, to really pitching your standards that way because you want to be like that and not because youre under any social pressure. such as in this case, i guess many ppl will despise his action because as a teacher, he should at least attempt to do sth to ensure the safety of the children and not simply run away (which tilll now amuses me alot). and maybe thats when education comes into the picture, there must be a reason why all of us who are ppl with such different personalities, preferences etc, come together to embrace a particular moral belief, perhaps it'll be more beneficial to society and in turn be beneficial to you, afterall we're all interdependent.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK!
for one, its super worth it!! hahaha i loved it, its not just worth the $10, its worth the 2hours(: and the excitement level is like 100% , you just keeps on anticipating and wanting to know more and whats gonna happen next. plot and sequence are awesome, unexpected and impactful. but from a more professional viewpoint, i would think the effects are not as powerful as expected, like the moves during the fights are pretty predictable and wont really make you go wow. but other than that, i think its marvel-ous!:D <4.5stars>

WORSHIP YOU ALONE
was lovely. God's presence was there, and i was touched to see many youths willing to take time off their saturday nights to spend time worshipping and exalting the Lord. And i believe we learnt more bout worship, and hope that many youths would have been touched by God or heard from the Holy Spirit in one way or another. most imptly, i hope we've all been motivated to offer God our worship in a more intimate manner.

CHURCH CAMP
i think for me, all the objectives of the camp were met. the words and visions God has been speaking to me i would wanna hold close to my heart. it was an experience of being more wholly prepared for God's purpose in my life as an individual, and as a part of Bethel church. had meaningful fellowship cell, zone and dancers; had fun shopping/playing in the afternoons; made new friends and spent three wonderful and fruitful nights talking with roommate regina as well as hanging out with her during the entire camp(:

CELL MTG
today was exciting(: ive always loved and looked forward to cell mtgs. looking at the familiar faces that tell of different life stories make me wanna love them so much more. i pray that God's purpose will be fulfilled in Bishan cell, and His love and blessing upon this awesomerz cell always!

i like to read.
because when i do, i find myself stepping into another world, a world thats much better than the reality anyways. because you know that no matter how unexpectedly good or bad things happen along the way, at the last few pages of the book, you will still get to where you want to be, the ending is always a perfect,happy ending. (for the books i read at least)

and thats why everytime i have to sort out some stuffs in my mind, i'll rather hide myself under the blankie and teleport to the other world! the world where im just a bystander, watching and appreciating the things happening, and knowing that ultimately the lovely ending is mine to embrace. but well, there are things in the REAL world that always need to be solved.

sometimes i wanna live in a fantasy.
